Has anyone ordered the Sureshade option from Grady white ? Are you happy with the function and reliability?

Manual or electric?
Both are pretty pricey based on cost on other makes. I don't have a Grady price list to compare
I have been told but have no firsthand experience that the electric model are prone to motor failures. I would lean towards the crank option instead of electric if I had the choice.

I believe the factory option is electric, no manual version listed

Depending on your model and layout, you may want to think about a fixed shade. Mine doesn’t bother my fishing and it really protects well from sun and rain.

Friend has an electric telescoping Sureshade on 232 Gulf Stream. Works great for family outing but it gets in the way when fighting or netting salmon, if he extended too far. Also, when it isn’t fully extended; it only works when the sun is directly above you. IMO, I would skip if you fish a lot or on boat smaller than than 30 footer as it might work better on bigger boat.
Thank you for your reply. I guess an alternative ( and much less expensive) option is a roll out canvas top with graphite poles to the aft cup holders.
