If you can swing it a 3500 Chevy with the Diesel 4x4 with the up graded seats not the work truck package......ramps can be a bit tricky with out. I loved my 7.3 F250 4x4 if you can find one with low mileage, there are out there . My ford had a lariate package really comfortable.
 
2007 Dually Ram 3500 Cummins 6.7 with 3:73 gear. 6-speed auto trans. Also have the Jake Brake option. My 232 w/trailer weighs in at 10,100 lbs.
I pull to Marathon Fla. from Indiana for a winter break and will say it's the best tow vehicle I've ever driven.
Nets 10-11 MPG with light or tailwinds, 9/headwind running at 60-65MPH. Go over 70 and your dumping diesel into it like mad.
