Trailer options for a GW 228 Seafarer

I paid a little over $5k for an Owens and Sons for my 208 in 2019. If you can swing an extra $1000 and bring your budget up to $6000 to account for higher prices out West and recommended upgrades like SS brakes you’ll have more options. Don’t make the same mistakes some of us have and spend less up front only to spend significantly more a few years down the road.

The Grady is a whole different beast than an Arima and weighs a lot more. Also keep in mind that the flat stern and shallow draft of the Arima make it a lot easier to load (I had a 17 SC). Your trailer will have to be built accordingly to handle the heavier load.

Get a trailer with brakes. The trailer I got with my 228 has surge brakes on all 4 wheels, I step on the brakes and the trailer goes away.

And get a truck with brakes. It is all about the stopping, it is not about the towing.

Continental's are solid, SS Kodiak brakes on all the hubs, LED lights ect. Not cheap though..
