I'm mounting an airmar 525 thru hull in the hull of my 282 (01') model. has anyone done this using the factory molded in flats that in the hull. If so what were your results , did you need a fairing block or anything or just drill ,5200 , tighten up and pull cable to dash.
Any interference while underway or do you recieve a clean signal at all speeds? the owners man says these flats are for mounting xducers.

Is that a Furuno part number? The Airmar transducer would be a B60, no?

If that is the case, no faring block is needed. They mount flush. Just be sure that you have the one with the correct tilt angle. You need the 20 degree for the Grady. The Installation is simple. You just follow instructions.

I used 4200 in case I ever need to remove the transducer for repair or replacement.

Mine tracks bottom up to 45 mph as long as the seas are flat. It doesn't track very well at speed in a serious chop because of air under the hull.
