Transom 208 adventure

Good evening, I have a 1994 208 adventure, my transom doesn't flex when move the motor up and down or when I stand on the lower unit, but I have cracks in the corners by the aluminum trim piece, it will probably need a transom , anyone have any ideas how much it will cost? Can it be done from the outside of the transom ? I know some boats that takes away the strength.

Curious, what did u use for those built in cooler lids?

I can take better pics when its not raining and cold, The guy who had the boat before me used regular plywood for the cooler lids and put a heavy varnish on them, they actually work really well

I would also be curious to see pics of cracks when you get a chance. I own a '94 226 that has just the slightest diagonal crack at the corner of the aluminum cap so I'm sure I'm headed in the same direction.

Also, off topic but how do you like that swim ladder? Enough clearance for the outboard to rotate? You wouldn't happen to know what brand/model that is would you?

The swim ladder is great, yes its has plenty of room for the motor to rotate, no i dont know the name off hand

Interesting, almost identical to what I'm seeing with the small diagonal corner cracks. I too don't feel any real give in the engine or detectable softness in the transom..

To try to buy some more time, I may try to Dremel out the cracks and fill in with MarineTex or similar, just to prevent more water intrusion through the cracked surface.

Thanks for the review on the ladder, that's next on my list of boat improvements.

That last picture is not a good sign, The core appears to have swollen causing the glass to crack. I can't tell from the picture how extensive the swelling is.
