Transom door seal on Sailfish?

Hi - is there supposed to be any kind of seal at the transom door or is it just glass on glass when the door is closed? Mine is has about an eight inch of slop and looks like it will rattle when underway. The gel coat is worn off where it has been rubbing at the top. Was there ever any kind of rubber seal or anything there?

They do not have a seal, but the latch should hold it secure enough that it will not rattle. Mine also has a small wear spot at the top.

I think you can adjust the catch side of the latch to snug it up. If not maybe add a thin piece of hard plastic and some double side tape on the edge of it?
