Can anyone with a Tournament 19 from the mid-late 1980's let me know what your transom height is please? Mine is a 1988 model.
If you look at the literature on the GW website, they list the the transom as 20" for 1988. I looked at 1987 and 1989, and they also show 20"
My boat, however, has a 25" transom height.
I bought the boat from the original owner back in 1992, and I happen to have the original owners manual. It looks just like what is available online now, typewritten information. Except someone scratched through the 20" value on the transom height for the Tournament 19, and wrote in pen 25".
Weird to think that in this age of computers that GW would let a typo like this, on something as important as transom height, live on in their documentation for at least these three years...
And I did some Google searches and found some posts in other forums about people repowering 1980's model Tournament 19's, and they mention 20" transom height...
I hope they don't end up like I am today - with a 20" motor on a 25" transom. Useless waste of money.
There is no chance that they actually changed the transom height during the run of this model boat, is there???
Here is what is in the owner's manual...
Anyone want to swap motors with me???
