This may seem like a stupid question but so what.
I have a 22 seafarer. 87 with the Grady drive and 225 ob.
Should I or should I not use some sort of transom saver when I tow.
Looked for some but you have 5 to 6 feet before hitting the trailer on this thing.
Everything I find seems to short.
Any ideas?
Thanx

I've never found a transom saver that works with bracketed engines.

I use the m-y wedge (http://www.m-ywedge.com/). Yamaha dealers now stock the same device with the Yamaha name on it.

It doesn't really support the engine load, but it acts as a shock absorber and takes the load off the tilt hydraulics.

I've used these on all of my boats for the past 10 years including my bracketed Silver Streak, which was trailered for over 100,000 miles. Never had any problems.

Thanx for the heads up on this. Had a nightmare that my motor fell off on a local
Highway.
