I recently purchased a 2003 gulfstream that has a single 250hp on a bracket and was thinking of replacing it with twin 150 hps. Does anyone know who makes the twin brackets for grady or have any recommendations on this.
Any info would be much appreciated.

thanks for the replies. I looked at the website and the brackets look great but are a little expensive. I was hoping to replace the bracket and keep the swim platform already installed.

We were thinking of doing this to our 2000. Keep in mind the labor costs are a bit high because they have to cut the deck of the boat and cut the gas tank to make a second pick-up for the 2nd engine. The cost difference between buying newer and repowering led us to buying a newer grady.

By the very nature of fiberglass being more expensive than aluminum, a DIYer can select a new aluminum bracket instead of the fiberglass HERMCO and get new dual pickup gas tanks with the savings. The aluminum bracket can be custom shaped to provide floatation too. Last time I looked, I think D&D custom made alum brackets as such.

Alternately, if the Gulfstream has two tanks, pipe one motor to one tank, the other motor to the other tank. End of story.

Get the HERMCO bracket and eat your cake too.

I agree with Bob, although you can check with Stainless Marine as well as Armstrong...they aren't cheap either.

But I'd go with Hermco. Excellent product, full flotation, plus I like the way he thinks...a bit towards port...

thanks for the responses and insight. I didn't even think about the 2nd gas outlet. The boat does have two gas tanks. Will have to think this one over a little more. As I would love to upgrade, don't think that is an option.
