Tying kicker steering to main Yamaha steering w/ seastar

For those of you who have done this, how? I know how to do it on the kicker side: I'm making an L shaped bracket and u-bolting that to the sort of yoke at the front of the engine like my buddy did.

I don't see how you tie into the Yamaha - I have a modern 250hp. There is a tongue that sticks out (barely) with a threaded hole but it's tucked way back in there.

So help me out, how did you tie the rod to the main engine?

I looked at a buddy's setup and I was trying to attach the bracket to the wrong part of the seastar system. All good.
