I called the dealer and as of 5:00 pm they were removing the heads. They indicated they found water in a couple of the cylinders. I will know more tomorrow, but the motor is rusted up pretty good inside. The mechanic said there is clearly water getting inside the motor, significantly beyond any kind of fuel issue, which there is none.

I am going a 3 day field trip for my daughter's 7th grade trip tomorrow and may or may not have cell service. Will post possibly Friday.

They removed the motor from the boat and put it on a stand as I have been told. Concerns me as they are not a Grady dealer. I guess and I hope connecting the rigging is not a big deal for an experienced boat mechanic Grady or not...

When in doubt.. Look at the simplest explanation first..
Since you have no water in the fuel , The most likely cause is cooling water getting in.. Therefore , a head gasket or some other weird flaw in the block.. No way they can hang this on on you

If they are an authorized Yamaha dealer they should be fine. Removing and reinstalling a motor is not particularly complicated.

Water getting inside sounds like head gaskets to me...I would expect Yamaha will warranty it. Question is how long will it take them to put it back together.

BTW - Lockwood is still open. I called down there yesterday to get a price on a part. If you need them to intervene, I would bet they can help.
