Hi! Does anyone have examples of how they turned the cabin in a trophy pro to a full sleeping area? Thanks! 3 young kids and we want to one day so an overnight trip in our 85 Grady. Also, I’m looking into seadeck or something for the back fishing area. I’d love any tips and tricks!

Did you do all the fiberglass work and painting yourself? Looks nice.

I can't offer any real-life experience with your particular cabin, but looking at the picture... convert the port side to a single sleeper... add chocks the vertical wall on the port and stbd side then build a platform/board that sits on those chocks so that it's flush/level with the stbd side and fill with cushions.

FYI... you can find a 2-man tent that would fit in the cockpit - add a blow-up mattress and you're all set!

You won't find a pre-made template for Seadek, but you can purchase their template kit, make the template and send it to them. Then, once complete, get the "dry fit" to double check everything before you pull the trigger. It's peel and stick.

Boat looks really nice. we just bought an 85 troph pro project, and haven’t started on it yet. How is the ride with your boat? I wonder how much a difference between these older boats and the newer sea vee hull. Again very sharp looking boat.

Could you post more pictures of the cabin? Been a long time. Does the Pro have the quarter berth to port under the cockpit? Can you do away with the tackle storage area, I think it was to the Port side of the cabin and turn the forward area into a V berth? with a fold down bunk over? IIRC with the longer cockpit you don't have the enclosed head. I parted with my '83 Kingfish and unfortuantely don't have the Grady brochure for that era anymore.

Tough to make more space in the cabin. The only thing I can think of is looking into fold down bunks like at least one of the GW models have.
As for aft, you can make a camper to enclose it in. I'd try to do it make-shift myself. I used poles in the gunnels, tarps and binder clips and line once and made a nice covering. Used a blow up mattress and stayed out there with my eldest son. It was ok. It kept the dew off of us and I did get some sleep.... Sun was bright at the rise so you will be up early. If it works for you, you could explore having a real enclosure built.
