Upgraded the electrical system 87 offshore 24

Spent the winter buying wire, terminal blocks and new battery switches. Also replaced the old switch panel as well. Moved the batteries to the aft storage compartment since i don't have a second fuel tank. has to make a whole new battery switch compartment cause i didn't want to always reach into the bilge to turn the battery switches. Went with bep marine battery and daul digital vsr's. Everyhting gets powered from the house battery. i have twin yamaha outboards so each engine has it's own starting battery. The only thing i realized after installing everything and running all the wires i've should've installed battery posts somewhere in case i need to jump start the engines.Also took advantage of the whole i cut to replace the bilge pump and float switch

Nicely done! I may need to take some pointers from you. I am fixing to tackle the same project. I have ordered all my stuff from Genuinedealz, minus a new switch panel. Any idea where the best place to get an entire new replacement switch panel? I'm also planning to move my batteries from the transom area up to the cuddy storage area. I had my switch panels made up by new wire marine. He did a great job. Also had them make me a new gauge panel so that it matched my switch panels. I also bought all my wire and electrical components from Genuinedealz.

Gotcha... I'll check em out for the panels. I've got a 91-Offshore, that I been working on. I'm thinking about making that same cut below the livewell area, for access to the rear bilge, etc... What size hole did ya cut, and where did you get that panel? Thx

For the battery panel i just got a 11 by 15 locking deck hatch and made the box out of pvc wood. The switch panels were around 650.00 for 2 switch panels and and the gauge panel and they all were made with carbon fiber. U can get them cheaper but i wanted them to light up at night and also have indicators when a switch is on. I also had the main panel made with 4 usb charging ports

I didn't really want to do it but i really had no choice. The old switch panel with the glass fuses was totaly shot. When i tore out the old wiring found alot of corrosion and brittle insulation. Grady also seemed to love using unsealed quick connectors that were pure green. So far everything turned out good. Everything works like it should now. This winter all install a box in the cuddy for the wiring to tidy that area up as well
