I'm T-minus on purchasing a pair of slightly used F250XCAs to replace my 2005 F225TXRDs on my 265 Express. Out of curiosity, has anyone done this, and aside from the new binnacle and shift/throttle harness, do I face a challenge with needing to replace the steering cylinder, or other bits and pieces?

Possibly the key switches. Something is different about the DEC/XCA motors needing a new switch. Also the gauges as they will need to be digital. I just repowered and replaced everything,, key switch, gauges, binacle and engine wiring harness as the XCA motors are FBW,,, all the cables go away.

last fall i researched a repower go go from old mechanical motors to new. There were a number of options, including going with digital controls, but retaining the existing sea star steering, which i did. The ignition set up (keys n such) was different, and the gauges are new - ended up going with the round gauges to match holes in dash, but could have upgraded to a touch screen.
