Utilization under stern seat

I just got a new to me 97 chase and it seems like the area for bilge and battery access is a complete waste of space. Has anyone figured out a way to install an removable insert or something?

My 1992 175 and 1995 205 had exactly that. If someone with your same model doesn't jump into the conversation, just call the factory and ask. They are great at helping out with such questions.

do a search. a few folks have designed drop in storage. some as simple as a rubber maid container. whatever works to give you more storage - especially if removable for access will work just fine.
