Does anyone know where I can get this small vent window?

Easiest way is to make a template or remove the opposite window and take it to a glass shop. They can make or have one made from a supplier outof tempered glass. Think it cost me 70 bucks to have one made last year and it fits perfect

if you have the aluminum hinge piece then you can use lexan from home depot and copy the other side. You might find the latch and the T handle but the aluminum hinge appears to be extinct.

Yeah, there’s nothing there. Just a hole…

It probably is Water Bonnet for the aluminum but they are out of business. Try http://www.marineglassspecialties.com.They may have some or know where to get it.

GW used a type of glass the industry calls "school bus glass". It is not tempered. My local guys did not like drilling the hole so close to the edge.Maybe it could be drilled in the middle of a sheet before cutting.

Tempered glass is a better choice but it can't be cut. They cut untempered glass and put into a very expensive tempering furnace/machine. Glass shops don't have them so they send parts out.

Finding a shop that will do a small batch is a problem. Try sales@jerseytemperedglass.com but I thought I used a Seattle company. It will make sense to have 3 or 4 pieces made because of setup charges and shipping.

I went with tempered. I you decide to go that way I'll see if the spares in the boat have an address. It's been 10 years. I think I ordered 4 and have 2 left.

Looking at the picture it looks like the the black frame piece is in place. It is not a typical looking hinge. It is a just a slotted piece of metal the glass slides into. The locking plastic slide arm is what holds the glass in place. Can you post a close up of the vent hole. The sliding lock is available online, I believe it is Taylor Made and per the above most glass shops have a supplier that can cut the glass and drill the hole.

I’d have to run down to the boat to get a better look, but here’s the pics that I have and I can’t tell if the hinge is there or not, I’m thinking that it’s not.

I was down at the boat today, there is no frame hinge. Ugh…

I had the same problem with mine. The "fix" was nearly $500 for the hinge, gasket, glass and latch.

Ugh indeed...I did use Marine glass specialties as Hookup 1 said.

I don't envy making that decision again, I just went for it.

I had siliconed shut the passenger vent window of my '87 228 a few years ago. The PO had changed out the vent arm that was not OEM it didn't close. I decided to cut it open and get it working again. Part of OCD I guess o_O I had the original glass cut down a hair to fit the aluminum frame this...

buy some plexi at Home Depot, cut to fit and black silicone it in place. Move on to more important things.
