I'm preparing my boat for Winter for the first time here in the North East. Is it OK to leave the VHF radio on the boat during Winter if it is kept dry? There seems to be a lot of cables and wires attached at the back, so would rather keep it on the boat if that's what other people do as well.

I'd pull the connectors and wipe 'em with Corrosion X, or whatever your choice ...

Should be very easy to disconnect? Unless its flush-mounted, etc., I think all would agree its always best to remove any electronics if possible I think my radio has two or three connections, all very simple to remove.

It certainly can't hurt to bring them inside, but there's no problem leaving them outside, either. They'll be just fine over the long, winter's nap. Think about all the flush mounted electronics... it's VERY rare for anyone to pull those out. Heck, the VHF in my Sundancer has been there since 1999.

Thanks for all your answers. I'll see how difficult it is to remove,
otherwise I'll just keep it in during the Winter.
