I have a new set of Volvo Penta Trim Tabs.
The Starboard side doesn't retract all of the way. The indicator shows that it is up all of the way. When I turn off the power and reverse the wires, the indicator light shows that the tab is down and will let me retract it all the way and the other side has the same problem.
- I am on my 3rd control unit with the same problem
- 2nd wiring harness with the same problem
-2nd buttons with the same problem.
I am in Washington State and the Volvo Penta Dealers in my area don't have any experience with them.
The problem is always on the starboard side unless I reverse the wires. This problem doesn't make any sense. Any suggestions for things to try?

I know nothing about Volvo trim tabs - honestly, didn't even know they made tabs. But, from what you describe, it certainly sounds like an controller/"brain" issue. It seems like it's "thinking" they're in one position when they're really in another. Is there some way to do a "reset"? Do you have the manual (or can you get it from the manufacturer)? I would look for something like "initial setup" or "reset". Maybe even just try getting them (however you can do it) to the right position and then all removing power from it for a few minutes.

Or... bite the bullet and change over to Bennett tabs and then never give them a second thought for decades. If you ever do have an issue, even 20 years later, Bennett will be there to help.

I have a buddy who...after several failures of his QL tabs...finally "fixed" his with a set of Bennetts.
