Wash or Dry Clean

Looking to remove the covers for the interior cushions (berth areas). They are mostly fabric but have some vinyl on the sides. Is a delicate hand wash the way to go or dry clean?

I washed mine in the machine. Dried on low. They went back on ok. They were already pretty shabby so the next season my sister in law replaced the top fabric.

It depends on the material. My berth cushions explicitly say that they should not be dry cleaned.
I just spot clean with a damp rag and a small bit of mild soap.

I have used a Bissell upholstery cleaner for interior cushions. It worked pretty well.

Even if you can wash your cushion covers, you run the risk of them shrinking and being impossible to get back on.
Also take a look inside the cushion cover for a care tag. You might get lucky

Will do. If I wash, I will not use a dryer. I'll hang in a dry spot without direct sun.

fyi, my sister in law, not a seamstress by any stretch of the imagination, replaced just the top of the covers. That made it a lot simpler to sew. You don't see the sides anyways. Got a similar color fabric.

I will have to run that by the wife. She does a lot of sewing....

I have the cloth cushions, not vinyl in the cabin and just took them out of the boat, leaned against the house and sprayed them down with some upholstery cleaner with enzymes, then rinsed with water hose. Let them drain for a day and they came out great! They dry pretty quick. Can also bring them into garage and ceiling fan or box fan will speed up the drying. No issues and they are very clean!

I was getting a lot of saltwater on them from the leaking rubrails, so rinsing was a must.
