What am I not seeing - max towing?

I have whatever rims the truck came with.

I have a super crew 4x4 v8 5.0 3.55 axle

Yes, I have the towing package. Not sure if it is a or b

you're not putting the boat in the bed, you are pulling it. The 7000 is the truck, fuel, people, cargo and/or 500lb tongue weight.

In the Ford Conventional Towing chart I see ... Standard cab, 4x4, short wb(122") 3.55 Rear...
the Max Loaded Trailer Weight is 8300
the GCWR is 13200
Also, the chart has foot notes

(2) Maximum loaded trailer weight requires weight-distributing hitch.


I would also assume you have the 53B or 53A towing package? You need one.
Stock rims? Changing the rims makes the chart useless.

What is the GCWR vs MLTW?

Correct me if I am wrong, MLTW means I can tow up to 9100 and GCWR is that plus the truck etc?

Also, added the air bags. I plan to have the tow distribution added also. I also plan to have a towing/trailer company help me by adding any special hitch setup.

I listen to you guys more than anything or others, so you won’t offend me, I promise.

You just have to realize there are a ton more people with totally horrible ideas and options yelling in my ears so...lol...I come here to weed through it all.

you are correct ! (includes the trailer's weight)

On the Ford chart you posted, your truck GCVWR is 14,400 or 14,500 depending on wheel base.
With everything loaded truck,boat,trailer,fuel,gear,people if your under that it’s legal. All modifications
you do doesn’t change that number, just makes you feel better.

The guy that purchased my sailfish, towed if away with a F150. It will do it, but for how long.

IMHO.. that F150 V8 will tow 9100 to the Local ramp & back no problem. If I were going to be highway driving it far and often, I'd get an F250.
Better yet, I'd get a boat slip.

Yep, and that is why I got the Islander instead of the Sailfish. The Islander weighs a lot less.
