Uh, I was not looking for problems, I was doing one last easy test before I put the lower unit back on.
I pulled the anodes and replaced them and did not want the big chunkks of salt to get stuck in the waterway, so I flushed it with a hose. Sook about three cups of vinegar and about 2-3 minutes for the water to be clear again.
While I had it off, I rammed water up from the bottom. If there was a problem, I would see Water pouring out the exhaust. Since it was dry, safe to assume the exhaust is not broken.
Now, putting the lower unit back on and will flush it with vinegar and water for about an hour and really wash out the engine (it was pretty bad on this engine), then another 20-30 minutes of water only.
Will finish theother engine the same way next week when the correct anodes arrive for it (the wrong ones came in) and then I will install the new thermostats.
Then, since the mechanic I called will not touch it because I did not buy it from them, i will take it for a spin on. The lake and test the new water pump and seals etc.
If all is well, I will drag it to a mechanic up north Ifound for diagnostics and a plan for the one low cylider.
then, we will go fish.
