1999 208, Yamaha 200 OX 66 purchased in 2003. Used on the Rappahanock and Chesapeake Bay, occassional Rudee inlet trip. (Well once in January, but plan to go more this year and other locations.)

Bought from the original owner in Hilton Head that had it in the high-dry since new. I think I used it more in a year than it was used in its first 4.
Has been more boat than I hoped for given its size.

Thanks for getting the site up and running.

Got the 30' Marlin in August. Upgraded from a 24' Wellcraft W/A. It has been a great boat and we spend almost every weekend on it. Can't wit till March 16 when it goes back in.

Named the boat "Kleen'd Me-Out" fit perfectly if you know what I mean!!

Drystack

Hey Megabytes. Great boat. How has the drystack worked for you? Any problems with having the boat ready when you are? What are the pros and cons from your perspective, especially the cons? I ask because the notion is intriguing given a new drystack coming in at Indian River Marina, Delaware. Thanks.

dry stack

Thanks for the welcome. I just got back from the coast. In fact I took sunset solo cruise down the ditch Sat. It was nice but a tad cold for the Admiral. It was great to get on the boat for the first time since New Years.

Drystack is great. I would have it no other way unless I owned a boat which was too large. Only in recent years has our marina upgraded lifts which could handle a Marlin. We have 2 3070 Pursuits as well but everything else is smaller. They don't want any more large boats. The only reason I was able to move up is that I have been there 12 years and own my slip. They have turned down many requests for 30-32 cabin and CC boats.

I highly recommend drystack if you have the option. The resale value will be higher as well. The only con I can think of is dock space. Sometimes it gets crowded.

New Grady Owner!

New to this Forum and new to Grady White. This afternoon I put a deposit on a 2001 247 Advance and am excited about owning a Grady and having a place to share with other owners. I have been watching the forum for a couple of weeks and it helped me make the decision to move forward on this 247. Thanks for getting it up and running.

My Grady

I have a 1995 23 Gulfstream. Twin 175's (carb'd). Great boat. Would appreciate suggestions on a radar. Am thinking 1715 Furuno.

Your so right!!

The right deal and BOAT came along. So I had to make it while I could. It is a great boat and never regretted it. I always wanted a G/W from the beginning, but you know how it goes. The footitis hit me and I couldn't control myself.

I am the proud owner of a 2005 Grady White Marlin 30 due here in the middle of April. Still trying to decide on electronics and other equipment. I am looking forward to this being a great site for everyone.

I put the 10" nanvnet in mine, and is has worked well. The only problem I've had with it is the tides issues with them being off by 5 hrs and no way to correct them.

Hunterdorrah, I have a boat coming in within two weeks or so. Electronics include a Northstar 952 Chartplotter, Furuno Sounder (6.5"), and Furuno Radar (1715). I struggled with whether to get a Net with a single display, or whether to get a combo chartplotter and sounder. After checking out displays, etc, and speaking with some buddies in the know, I decidced not to get a combo outfit because I would have to toggle back and forth. I like the idea of viewing both a the GPS and the sounder. You can split the screen, but that divides a 10" (which is thousands more expensive) int a 5" screen. Then comes the deal if the combo unit goes out, you are SOL. Combos are a must only if you have a space problem. I also fought the tempatation to do it myself, or to have some buddies come out and do it. I decided to go a professional electronics installer as they gaurrantee the work, will service and handle any equipment problems (as opposed to my dealing with the mgf) and will come out to the boat to fix things. Finally, I highly recommend getting a Sirius satellite radio. 120 stations of commercial free music and many different genres of music. (I like the Standard Time Jazz). If it is not to late, the cost of the electronics, etc, can be rolled into the pricing and any financing for the boat. Hope this helps.

batojim, Thanks so much for the advice about the electronics. I have not decided yet what to do but so far I am leaning towards Furuno. Sure is nice to have found a good site dedicated to Grady!
