I am interested in getting an elevator lift for my 247 advance. Would a 10K lift be ok?
Thanks

I would get the exact weight of your rig, then add full fuel to the total. Add an appropriate amount for how much gear you'll have aboard. (It varies from Captain-to-Captain,) and come with a grand total. Then spec a lift with at least a 3K cushion in it's total capacity.

I have a Marlin 300 that weighs 12,500 loaded for Bear. I chose a 16K cap lift and I'm glad I did.

Others may say you can cut it closer, I dunno. I wouldn't, but that's my cautious nature. I'm sure Grady-White could get you the weight on your 247 and you can calculate everything else.

Depending on where you are in your boating life, you may want to get more than you need in case you want to get a bigger boat. If you were to upsize, consider how much that boat could weigh.

Regardless, leave a large enough cushion as I have read about many boat lifts collapsing during storms and downpours.
