My bimini support rods are starting to show some surface rust. What's the best stuff to put on them?

I assume you are talking about stainless steel and not aluminum. It could be 304 or older 316 or 18-8 grade. I like to use Woody Wax. It is a preservative and has directions for removing light surface rust with steel wool. It provides a coating that can be a bit greasy, but keeping moisture away to prevent corrosion is the key.

Have you tried Flitz and a buffing ball on your drill? That should take it off.
