I have owned a 180 & 222. I wonder if I am biased because I think CC are a great utility boat in general...?

I also wonder which model has been the best seller/money maker for Grady?

Express 330
I have owned a 222 Fisherman, a 273 Chase, and a 330 Express. Of the three, pound-for-pound (and dollar-for-dollar), I would say the 273 Chase was the best. Again, we are talking about comparing Floyd Mayweather to Mike Tyson here, one may be a better fighter, but he is not going to win head-to-head.

So, from what I can offer in personal experience, the 273 Chase wins. From my voluminous research, both in terms of the market and people's opinions on their own boats, I would think the 300 Marlin is likely the winner.

Sailfish
I have owned a Seafarer, Gulfstream and Currently a Sailfish. Could never understand why GW dropped such a popular model. With that said I'm sure if I ever own a Marlin or 33 Express That would be my favorite GW. For now I vote Seafarer, Gulfstream and Sailfish as a tie.

I have owned the 180, 282, and now the 306.

The 180 was the best for its class, relative to other brands in the same 18' class. I loved that boat. My 306 is the best overall, the ride is fantastic and it meets my needs perfectly. The 282 Sailfish was a great boat, but not quite big enough. So my vote is probably the 306 as its big enough for what I need, not too big...

My dealer told me they sell more 228s than all other models combined. I don't know if that is Grady's numbers or just that dealer. I suspect just that dealer because the 208 and the 228 are the only models I've ever seen there.

I’ve owned a 228 Seafarer for less than a year but it took me 5 years to find the right one. I have had guys with 208’s and Overnighters asking me to sell mine to them, the 228 seams to be a desirable size up here on the West Coast in British Columbia

It's big enough to handle some snotty ocean and small enough that it is easy to trailer. If I were in a slip (and made of money) I'd probably want a Marlin 300, that's a sweet sled. But I would not want to trailer it.

Just depends on your wants/constraints. I'm super happy with my 228.

That's a lot of Gradys. Says a lot that you keep coming back. I'm brand new and I think my 228 is the last boat I'll ever own. Who knows? Maybe I'll go bigger some day. Cool to see your progression. From what I've seen people really like the sailfish models, why is that?

My father's first grady was '84 20' Overnighter. After that a '87 25' Sailfish w/twin IOs (never again on the IOs) then a "99 268 Islander. I bought the Islander off my father and loved that boat. Few years ago traded it in for a 2005 Marlin. Every Grady has been great for their own reasons and at the times we owned them they were always great to us. And well, continue to do so.
