Does anyone know why my 94 sailfish has 27' foot stickers on it? My understanding is they were not labeled 27 until 1995. The stickers sure do look original with wear and fading and my title also has the boat as 27' What do I have to go by for length with docking etc. I would like to consider this to be a 25 footer.

The sailfish was a 25' up until 1993, they came with or without a bracket. Your boat is the first year they made the integrated bracket for the outboards. I believe Grady tried calling it a 25 still, but I think I read somewhere the USCG said they had to call it a 27. Most marinas will charge for actual LOA anyways, including the pulpit and outboards. You may be able to try calling it something shorter, but depending on the marina they will know or measure the LOA and bill accordingly.

1994 GW catalog lists boat as a 25 Sailfish, with a centerline length of 25'4".

My experience is that a wet slip will either charge you for the boat length based on model (e.g. our 270 Islander is a 27ft boat, despite the bow pulpit and engines extending that significantly), or they will charge you for the slip length, e.g. the 35ft or 40ft slip you are in, despite the boat length. We are in a 35-ft slip and pay for 27ft.

Our experience with dry storage is that they measure the distance between perpendiculars dropped from the forward end of the bow pulpit and the aft end of the engine cowlings. We paid for 32ft when in dry storage.

Very rarely will YOU be the one to decide how long your boat is when it comes to slippage. Like others mentioned, the guys that receive the money will determine that for you. Sometimes they include the full overall length, sometimes they just look at the actual 'glass.

As to why you have 27' stickers on there... if you're saying that Grady started doing that in '95, then you either have a late production '94 or a prior owner changed the stickers because he wanted to have a bigger boat
