I agree, fishing solo it is great to have, also makes it easier to anchor in nasty seas. Just make sure your anchor line is not hard, if so it tends to twist and tangle a bit, and make sure the type of line, strand and thickness works with whatever windlass you put in, the line itself can effect its overall performance. I love having a windlass, now a windlass and anchor ball is the best solution when you have large amounts of line out, but a windlass also draws a bit from the batteries, bringing up 1000+ft of line can kill some batteries, you may need to rev your engines to keep sharing them while bringing the line in. At idle not all battery chargers work.
