What's the best way to winterize baitwell, fresh water / saltwater wash down on a 1991 tourniment? I would like to use recreational antifreeze.

Not sure of the layout of your specific boat but two ways re: the raw water washdown.

(1) If you have access to where the hose connects to the the thru-hull fitting, remove the hose and dip the hose into a container filled with the RV antifreeze and run the pump.
(2) If you have better access to the raw water pump itself then where the hose connects to the thru-hull fitting, disconnect the hose from the "pickup" side of the pump. Buy a piece of hose with the same fitting that screws on to the raw water pump, attach it to the pump and then dip the other end of the hose into the container filled with RV antifreeze and run thepump
(3) Livewell - similar theory just depends upon access.

Disconnect the hoses on the "feed" side of each pump. I use a small piece of hose and attach one side to the incoming/feed side of the pump then jam a funnel in on the other side. Turn the pump on and pour in some non-tox/antifreeze down the funnel until you see it come out.

If you dont have any strainers in between the pump and seacock, you can usually get away without dumping any antifreeze down the disconnected hose, as it will usually drain out by itself.

If you want to play it safe, or have a strainer pour some antifreeze down the disconnected hose until you see it come out the bottom of the boat, or wherever the pickup is. This way you know you've gotten rid of all the salt/fresh water.

I took delivery of the boat monday and am still going over everything. Was in the boat today and noticed that the y valve doesn't move so it should be replaced. This model tournament has a livewell with a ball knob that operates the intake strainer, not sure if that's operable. If there a secondary pump for fresh water which this boat has, I haven't found it yet. Why not pour antifreeze down the through hull of baitwell water feed and wash down outlets and operate the y valve so it gets to pump? I just need more time to inspect everything though.
