I notice my port side wiper ( and just year old too) does not wipe windshield well and appears to be in need of adjustment as it wipes the left quarter of the windsheild only, like a 5 inch arc. I have not examined it up close, but is there is set screw on the shaft where I can simply reposition the wiper arm on the motor spindle or armature? I know I could go out there and look, but just wanted to ask....

If it's only a matter of repositioning the wiper arm... and assuming you have an AFI wiper motor, (ongaro is also the same) with a 5/8" splined shaft.

AFI arms usually come off by lifting a plastic hood over the base of the arm. Now you can losen a set screw, remove the arm and reposition it.

I've seen other brands that have a spring type clip, underneath the base of the arm. You have to pry back the clip and lift the arm off.

But... it kind of sounds like you lost your sweep setting. Something internally might have broken or came lose.Typically it's 80 degrees. On the AFI and Ongaro motors you can change the sweep patterns, by removing the gear box plate and repositioning the arm that rides on the shaft plate. It can be a little tricky, especially with the motor mounted on the over-head.

Thanks...the motor is mounted on the deck or the top of the cabin. I had this problem when I bought the boat and the dealer replaced the motor. I guess I have to access the motor from underneath via the cabin? My question is, and I will ask Grady tomorrow, is this a warranty issue?
