I need to run a wire from the console to the port side of the boat for a Live Scope transducer pole. I have an access by the head but then see the side of a big stringer. I do not know if there is any way of going around or over it or if can I drill through it? Any thoughts would be appreciated

I would be hesitant to cut a hole in a stringer. Before I would go to that extreme, I would try to determine how other cables are routed. One example might be the windlass cabling. If you need to get to the bow area port side, also follow the navigation light wires. It is possible that port side wiring was run forward on the starboard side and then across to the destination.

The GW cable chases are well documented in the owners manual. Download from GW site.

I'm doing fuel tanks on my boat. The helm hatch is up to get to the water tank and top of the fuel tank. There is a path from the helm over the water tank to the port side where you run a cable. Also from the helm down to the void behind the panel in the head then across to the port side under/through the steps down into the cabin. Remove screws from step and lift it out so you can see.

This is a 268 Islander. Not sure if it applies to your boat. And don't drill thru stringer. GW somehow manages to get wires over to that side.
