WTB Garmin 24 Fantom Dome Radar

Get in West Marines Captains Club and wait for 5x points week. 20% discount. Garmin units are not discounted so West deal is best around.

Why not just get the Garmin Fantom 24x as it's still readily available just about everywhere? I would also disagree with the statement that Garmin units aren't discounted as they have sales every year for them through BOE Marine, Hodges Marine, the GPS Store and so forth. I got my Garmin 943xsv through BOE Marine, of which they actually price matched another website and I've seen the same unit on their website, as well as others, for sale before in the past.

For your size boat I would stay with 18 dome. I have a GMR Fantom 18 on my 268 Islander.

The GMR Fantom 18 and 24 are discontinued. You may be able to find one discounted.

Personally I would go with a GMR Fantom 18x optionally on a pedestal mount. $2,199.99. You won't see a current model discounted from any reputable Garmin Dealer. Search "garmin gmr 18x fanthom radar buy".

If you don't have a autopilot installed you should also consider adding a magnetic heading sensor like Garmin SteadyCast or GPS 24xd antenna with built in heading sensor. This is especially important at slow speeds, at night and in the fog. Radar is disoriented when boat is moving slow-GPS heading inaccurate.

That is again incorrect. If you do a Google search for a Garmin 943xsv you'll see that it's marked down from multiple reputable Garmin dealer websites like Cabela's, Bass Pro Shops, The GPS Store, Walmart and even Amazon. They have it listed at $1,279.99 as opposed to the Garmin website which has it listed for $1,499.99 which is more than $200 off, and yes it is the same exact part number of 010-02366-61.

Same with the Garmin 8610xsv... Garmin has it on their website for $2,799.99, but Amazon, Cabelas, Bass Pro Shops and so forth have it listed at $2,399.99

I have a Garmin Fantom 18 for sale for $500 if you want it. The catch is it doesn’t display any targets and Garmin wants $910 to fix it.
