Looking to see if anyone living in New Jersey has experienced Yamaha 225 four stroke exhaust corrosion issue? Pm me if you have and where you had it repaired. Thanks

I also had problems with 1 powerhead, there was corrosion behind one thermostat in which the block corroded through from the inside out. When they pulled the powerhead is when the exhaust corrosion reared its ugly head. My total cost with a new powerhead was about 11grand. if you are doing just the exhaust components, the parts have gone down in price. I am gussing that replacement of the exhaust components alone would cost $2500 to $3000 per engine with labor. I would check with a few yamaha mechanics in NJ to see if they have done any replacements, they can give you a better idea-good luck

I had both engines done. they were 2002 F225's. I had Garden State Marina in Point Pleasant fix mine. $6000 for both fixes. Ironic part was the boat was still waiting for another part and washed away with Sandy. Talk about wasting money!

Either way Garden State Marina in Point Pleasant is well versed in the issue. Ask for Larry, Pete or Matt and tell them Chris from Wally world sent you over. They are great!

Wally, had you paid them yet for the other repairs? That is and is not funny.
