I just bought a 1994 Tournament 223 with a Yamaha 200 2 stroke. I am new to outboards - my current boat is an inboard. As soon as turn the ignition the warning horn comes on. The boat is on the trailer with muffs on the water intake. I have ordered a manual, but I don't have it yet. Any thoughts on what would cause an immediate warning horn? Thanks for any help.

Never mind - I figured it out. I didn't have the lanyard attached to the lock-plate. I figured it was something simple. Easy once you know. I am looking forward to getting this boat in the water.

You have discovered the process by which you can test the alarm to make sure its working. Disconnect the lanyard and turn the key.

Good news is your alarm works......
