Yamaha OX66 to F250 Swap?

I have a 1999 GW 223 with a 1999 Yamaha 200 OX66 that I possibly would swap to a 2006 F250. It appears that there is about 100 lbs difference in the weight. How big a factor will that be in how the boat sits in the water and performs? Would it be enough of a problem that I wouldn't want to make the change? Would a new harness and gauges be necessary or could some of the existing rigging be used? Thanks.

Personally I would stick with the OX66 if it is still running good.

Max HP is 250.

How did the boat ride and sit when you had a second person aft? That will be like having just you and the new motor. Depending on what gauges you have, they will probably work but you may need new harness or adapters.
Be sure to check if the newer motor has the exhaust corrosion issue.
Oh, one more point; I assume you already have hydraulic steering, if not you will need it for the new motor.

I've run a 223 with an F250....the scuppers will be right at the water line....you may get a bit of water on your feet if you stand in the back of the boat.

Swap wise, the steering will bolt right up. The existing harness and controls can also be used. Some of the tachs can be switched between 2S and 4S usage by flipping the dip switches on the back. Otherwise, you will need a new one.

You can look at installing an inline check valve (allows water to flow only one way).

BTW, I'd be all over the F250.
