I have em on my 25 Sailfish ... I have to stand on a deck chair ON MY TOES to reach them they are useless ......... that's why the only thing ever up there is the flag .....

I also spin the new filter on empty, then squeeze up the bulb ,.... I would rather stick with the fuel thats in my tank!

Buying old boat I agree with BC282 .... As a new boater this boat sounds like it could be more than you bargain for .... every used boat has it's problems, ... But A boat that old with an I/O engine would scare me away ....(Hell a NEW I/O engine would scare me away! )

Winterizing cost I had my 25 Sailfish lifted/powerwashed/hauled to mech shop/both engines winterized/AC winterized/shrinkwrapped , hauled to my house and blocked for under@1,100.00 I also spent an additional$400 on jack stands, but I will use them for many many years (hopefully)

Yami or Suzuki @ 250HP Suzuki all the way .... I know 3 guy's with the new 4 stroke 250 Yami's that had MAJOR issues ..... I would stay away from the Yamaha 250 ..(just an opinion)

200 Evinrude idle I have the same motors, had the same issue ... there is an assembly on the front of the engine up by the flywheel ....I believe it's the ilde 'advance'? buy the the book, there is a really easy proceedure to follow .... ...... Idle should be around 600 when in gear ...
