I have the more than enough access inside and either way I’m replacing the stringers and etc after, guess I’m cutting out the gunwales in the rear a bit then. I’m going to start the transom this weekend. I’ll post pics of the progress.

    1986 Seafarer 226 stringer replacement

I have a question for anyone still following this tread, I need some advice on which side I should cut out to replace the transom? (thinking about cutting the inside) Also the stringers are 1/2” or 5/8”? I’m thinking of using 3/4” coosa or would I be fine with 1/2” coosa?

I’ve seen this guy on YouTube, I love the setup enclosed transom, platform and the verado 300 makes me drool. Trying to get as close to this as possible, would like twins though as a redundancy standpoint.

Caster wheels get in tomorrow, going to finish the primer coat, and quick paint before putting the Yamaha outboard on the bracket. Weld were ok considering my time off a welder but I am overall happy so far we’ll see how she does once the outboard weight is on it.

Just made an outboard bracket to hold up the good old yammie while she’s off the vessel. I’ll post some pics later. Also currently trying to support the hull for stringer removal, got an idea waiting for some time to apply my idea physically and see how it does.

I I was planning on sealing it but leaving drain holes within pvc drain line running from the bow to the stern just in case water does make it in if that makes sense, the bilge pump should kick on before the water level rises enough to bring the water into the tank coffin. I’m planning on a new...
