    Water Pump

Hi - Been awhile since visiting the forum as it has been a crazy year, glad to see 09 go by. Anyway, just received the estimate from my dealer as to the spring commissioning and problems with boat/engines. Basically all OK, except the dealer states that the water pumps need replacement since...

    anchor needs nudge

whenever my anchor starts to "stick", I make sure the roller turns freely. Give it a few spins and perhaps good old WD, then I have no problems. I think it is like the trim indicator lever and gets stuck due to salt and etc. Good Luck

    cockpit drain hose

Hi all, Finally found the source (I believe) of the fresh water getting into the foward bilge. The port inboard drain has a leak between the drain and the scupper, so I think the hose is damaged. When it rains, some water leaks out and gets into the bilge and settles forward near the bilge...

how deep before bilge pump comes on

Just checking with others. I was wondering how deep the water in the fwd bilge gets before the auto bilge pump comes on for a 03 Marlin. My pump seems to work OK, but the water seems quite deep (about 2 inches) before it kicks in.

    Yamaha Speedometer inlet

Hi All, Thanks for the input on the paper clip. I went to the boat today and inserted the paper clip about an inch or so in. Felt a little resistance when first going in. So hopefully in two weeks when the boat is in the water I will know the results. As others, I use the GPS for actual...

    Yamaha Speedometer inlet

Exactly where are the inlets for the speedometer on the Yamaha 225's. My speedometer has been intermittent and then not working at all. I understand that the inlets may be clogged. Help Thanks

Hello New member, need opinion on boat purchase

I had an '01 268 with a single 250 HP. For general use in the Peconic Bay and on LI Sound, never thought it was underpowered. It got up on plane quickly and I recalled did in the mid-30's at max. Never really wanted to move much more. Handled nicely. Good Luck with it if you get it.

    Marlin Windshield Wipers

the ones for an 03 Marlin are ANCO 52-20. There are available from various places on line or at truck part stores. They probably are the same for the 06 Marlin -- 20 inch blades.

    Windshield Washer

On my Marlin, I would, at times, have problems with the washer due to salt blocking the exit holes at the blades themselves. Make sure they are clear, a needle or pin will do the trick. Hope yours is as easy as my problem.

    Sailfish - microvave and refrigerator

If you have a factory genset, it should be sufficient to run these. If it is an aftermarket, check the KW output. Most are sufficient to run the normal appliances -- microwave, TV, AC and the like. Good luck with the Sailfish, you will love it, a nice rig.

    Windshield Wiper Replacement

Just replaced both blades on my 03 Marlin. The dealer wanted $30+ and then labor. Thanks to many of you, I googled on Anco 52-20 and found www.woodys-auto-supply.com who sells the complete blade for $7.50 plus shipping. It was an Anco, not a generic and an exact match (did not need the...

    GW 30 Marlin

Still like the secure feeling you get going from the cockpit to the bow with the walk around on the Marlin, both for us retirees with fish on and the grandkids. Good luck with it and I am sure you made the right choice, but most importantly --- ENJOY!!!

    Trim/Tilt Indicator

Thanks Joe -- Checked the boat this AM, found the lever and moved it up and down a few times. Think it did the trick. Will spray both engines to make sure both indicators are freed up. Take care and thanks -- now on to the speedo problem, but that has been intermittent all last season.

    Trim/Tilt Indicator

Just splashed the boat today. The yard had worked on the steering cylinders during the off season. On the run to my slip, noticed that both engines tilt/trim properly, however, the starboard indicator on the guage does not move (stays at full down position.) The port indicator works well...

    Thanks to someone

Hi - Don't know if it was me -- but I did write about the filters a while back as I was having problems with gunk in the tanks. Found out about the filters from GW - Bert -- Mentioned to him that GW should put in the manuals all the locations of filters and other such items. I know some of...
