Anyone add a 2nd Bilge pump in the stern of their boat?

Thanks Holokai! Great article and appreciate you sharing. Will implement your bilge cleaning process as well. My 208 typically has a 1/2 gallon or so of water in it. Not much - but for some reason it irritates me. I think the water settles in the center of my boat at rest then flows back...

Anyone add a 2nd Bilge pump in the stern of their boat?

Thanks again all. I'll be adding another pump, with high water alarm in my bilge. I'll mount the float a bit higher, but the pump will be at the lowest point. Next question - what would you do? Use 5200 to mount a wooden pad to the bilge and install the pump on that or would you use 5200 to...

Anyone add a 2nd Bilge pump in the stern of their boat?

That's what I was thinking Dennis, if I did the install it would be set up like that. Is setting up a 2nd pump like this standard practice for a boat used offshore, or am I overthinking this?

Anyone add a 2nd Bilge pump in the stern of their boat?

Hi Lee - there are 2 hatches in front of the seats at the helm, these don't provide access to the center line of the boat though, they provide access to overflow hoses that drain the cockpit overboard. There is a small 1inch drain in the cuddy, which I suspect drains into the center line of the...

Anyone add a 2nd Bilge pump in the stern of their boat?

Hi guys, thinking about adding a 2nd bilge pump to my GW Adventure 208. Just as a safety precaution. Has anyone done this? Any pics of the set up? In addition to the 1 rule bilge pump I do have in the boat, I have manual pumps on board. I fish mostly offshore in So Cal - 20 to 50 miles...

    Just felt like saying hello....

Trapper - I just re did my trailer suspension. Bolts were all frozen and rusted shut. I ended up using a grinder and reciprocating saw to cut all the springs and bolts. Took me about 8 hours total, with the boat on it. Having all the parts on hand was key. I was pretty lucky, I had one u...

2 year follow up.... 1983 seafarer and etec 150

Thanks for the post. I re-powered my 208 with a F150 Yamaha, I have no regrets either on power. Given sea conditions, I dont often go over 25 mph.
