Any Gradys with a head compartment and 5,000# towing?

DC - yes - your trailer will need brakes for sure. Are you located in San Diego? I'm up in Carlsbad, I typically launch out of Oceanside, but also go down to Shelter Island or Dana.

Any Gradys with a head compartment and 5,000# towing?

DC - I know you said you are not interested in the 208. For reference, I have a 2006 4x4 Toyota 4 runner that I use to tow my Adventure 208, I would say fulled loaded with fuel and extras I 5000-5500 lbs. It is right at the limit of the vehicle. No issues towing, but stopping is where you...

    205 Tournament

I also went from 17 whaler to a 1999 GW adventure 208, a cuddy walkaround , I went ahead and re-powered it with a yamaha F150. You will be very impressed with the GW ride. My boat tracks extremely well and does not have trim tabs, handles the chop well and is very comfortable for a 20 footer...

    Yamaha Alternator

Agree with above comments, also it is not recommended to run the switch on both, it would eliminate the redundancy of the 2nd battery. Only use both if one battery cannot start the motor. I installed an ACR on my boat to manage charging. Blues Seas has a great detailed website with tons of...

    Beckson 6” Pry-Out Deck Plates O-Rings

I am in process of converting to screw in types as well. I think most of the water I see settle comes in from the anchor locker. I think there is another thread on here, but I will also make it a habit to check all the thru hull hoses to the bait tank, fish hold etc.

Scuppers Below the Waterline and No Water in Bilge

Capt Bill - great reminder! I have been checking mine and man..... I'm not sure how I would ever get to them to change the out, it will take patience and some time to get those replaced!

    1995 Adventure 208 Speed

Check out the 208 Performance Specs page on the website with the F200. I have a new F150 and am pretty close. https://www.gradywhite.com/models/walkaround-cabins/adventure-208/

Adding acr an 3rd battery bank

You should call Blues Seas Tech support, they provide great service on these technical questions. I had some questions on my install and they were great.

New boat. Thoughts and What to Look for

Compression check on motor is a must, hopefully covered by survey.

    Batteries problems

Did you replace only one of the 2 batteries? Most folks recommend replacing both batteries at the same time. Just a thought. Glad you figured it out!

Engine stops suddenly in rough seas and starts again

I had the same issue on my 1999 Saltwater series 150 Yamaha 2 stroke. I thought it was the VST as well. Unfortunately, mine ended up being a dead cylinder, the one on the bottom left side of the block. Run a compression check before replacing the filters just to be sure. Hopefully you are...

This place was awesome. They have struts in stainless as well. I could not find the size I needed anywhere else. https://www.liftsupportsdepot.com/

    Thru Hull transducer

Great to see others from San Diego and So Cal on this forum! I'm in San Diego as well. Papa J - do you support other electronics? I'm mostly interested in Garmin Echo 9sv and hooking it up to an older Raymarine S1000 autopilot.

    Blue Seas ACR

Thanks for the feedback guys. I was happy with the ACR performance on my old whaler, I think I will proceed with the set up. I'm usually running vhf, FF and bait tank with engine off and fishing, so I want the best charging set up as possible.

    Blue Seas ACR

Hi all, my 1999 GW Adventure came with 2 batteries from the factory, both Marine dual purpose batteries (neither was a deep cycle). I just got the boat new to me last December and have not run the boat offshore yet. In my old 17 Whaler, I installed 2 batteries a deep cycle and starting battery...

    208 Adventure Weight Questions

Agree with Seasick. I just re powered with a Yamaha F150, weighs about 490 lbs. My scuppers are half submerged with about 1/4 tank of gas. With 3 passengers and the new motor, I have not had any water in the boat. When I put my bait tank in the bank, I may. Agree with Seasick on the...
