Yes I’m amazed how long the original fabric has lasted on my boat, I’ve only had the boat for the last 2 1/2 years. I did use the upholstery attachment on our Bissell carpet cleaner and shampooed them about 4 times when I first got the boat to clean them over the winter.

It was a fishing trip about 6 years ago on a 1999 248 Voyager that sold me on the quality of Grady White boats and it started my quest for a Grady. I settled on a 1999 228 Seafarer but the 248 was my first choice if I could have found one, the ride is unbelievable, congratulations.

Those look awesome, I still have the original fabric on my 1999 228 Seafarer for now but they are getting faded..

I see it has an after market hardtop, does it come with the full cabin enclosure and drop curtain? If not, then those are about a $5000 extra to make it an all weather boat.

I originally had my Lowrance chart plotter in the glove box of my 228 and then I moved it flush a year ago. My vhf and marine Alpine stereo is about in the overhead compartment.

I have a 1999 Seafarer with a 2012 DF250 and have had nothing but great performance with the DF250, I can’t really comment on the performance of the DF225. Lots of people, fuel and gear doesn’t seem to affect the performance of the outboard, lots of low and mid range power, just great engines...

I realize this is a different boat but I have a 1999 228G Seafarer that is 1000lbs lighter than your Gulfstream. I have a 2012 Suzuki DF250 on it and it is a great match for that boat. I would agree that any 4 stroke 250hp outboard would be on the light side.

I don’t want to burst your bubble but it’s going to be next to impossible to find what you are looking for at or below $35,000

I had over 1000 hours on a Yamaha 2000 F100 that had carburetors, sold it a couple years ago and it’s still going strong. Look after your outboards and they will look after you

Surprisingly that Voyager packed those outboards just fine, he has since replaced them with twin Yamaha F150s and still no real stern squat.

I spent a few trips on a 1999 24 Voyager with twin Honda 130 hp 4 strokes about 5 years ago and it convinced me to upgrade to a 228 Seafarer from my Campion, just an incredible platform. I agree with the crappy cabin layout in the Gulfstream but they are tanks.

I used the upholstery cleaner attachment on our Bissell Revolution carpet cleaner for the cuddy headliner. I pretreated with a 50/50 bleach water mix sprayed on first then carpet cleaner in the Bissell. A little cumbersome in the cuddy but we already had the bigger unit for house carpets etc, it...
