    Transducer installation

After installing a seacock recently, I hear ya. But when is the last time you pondered how thin an airplane skin is? And can travel 550 mph moderate turbulence with 300 plus passengers and cargo and no biggie. It's all about the load engineering.

    Engine and Grady Bracket removal

And bolts o_O Lot's of 228 owners on GG. I'm confident someone will be able to give you better advice on your bracket removal. If nobody can help sooner, the Grady White customer relations might be able to help. I have yet to stump them on a question like yours. Unfortunately they aren't...

    Engine and Grady Bracket removal

PS-If there is water between the bracket and transom gel coat, you might get blisters in the gel coat for a period. They went away on my 228 in a day. I did tape off and roll 2 new coats of gel coat. Even though you don't see that area because it's covered by the bracket, good to have the extra...

    Engine and Grady Bracket removal

I believe your bracket is different than mine. Post your hull year so someone can help with the correct answer. Just making sure you took a razor blade around the entire bracket to allow the sealant to release. Bracket is heavy, but should just pop off unless I am missing something...

    Towing

I tow with a half ton in high altitude mountain peaks no problems. Having a good braking system is more of a concern.

    Kicker Motor Install

Hope so too, I don't have em, and am a lake fisherman dictated by geographical positioning ;). If I was on the coast, they would be installed. Let us know how it works out!

    Kicker Motor Install

Have the same set up on my '87. Boat will list as you suspect. I did fix this by adding 4 bags of sand up in the cubby port side, then covered it with a throw blanket. The upside was the hull rides much better with no list.

    batteries

What seasick said is correct. You can use any position if your system is working as correctly installed. And agree with others, it's good you changed up the switch back and forth from 1 and 2. :)

Live well ball valve on a 228

Not sure if this is what you need. Ordered a 24" for my 228. https://thmarinesupplies.com/products/seacock-remote-operation-arm?variant=48679515023

    228 Repower

Brackets are big money for a replacement. If you want can pull off old one and have it powder coated for less than 500 bucks. Install with 4200. I filled up my bracket with ping pong balls so if water ever finds a way in, the will displace it somewhat and add flotation LOL. I whetted the bolt...

On the water impressions of my 228

Hi Pighunter, One thing you might consider at some point if you want to do your fluid changes and don't want to do it at a lake is buy an $83 dollar 100 gallon Rubbermaid tub. I'ts oval so you can tilt your engine down into it. There is also enough water pressure by volume that overheating...

    Livewell Operating Question

You can plug the fill on your live well in the meantime so no water comes into it, but if it's me I would take a flashlight and shine it thru the jump seat access to see if any water is leaking while underway at the sea-cock in your bilge. It's a safety issue and I would want to make sure...
