    2021 306 Canyon Switches removal

Pictures would help for those of us that don't know your exact layout. But switch/panel removal is pretty much the same from boat to boat to boat. As noted above, it's very straight forward, too. So, to answer your question of "how hard is it"... it's "easy"!

    228G Engine Mount Compatibility?

It's not whether the holes on the Grady are standardized... it's if the holes drilled into the boat for the Merc bracket will line up with the holes in the Yamaha bracket... in other words, does the Merc match the Yamaha. In this size range (HP) I would think they are? But get your hands on an...

1994 Spirit 175 Bow to Console Wiring

Not sure if this is how you meant it... but this comes across as a bit sarcastic.

1994 Spirit 175 Bow to Console Wiring

How would we know that from your first post? Aren't you able to follow the wires by starting underneath the console? It's hard to say without being there looking at it in person. But I've never come across one that was all that hard to figure out once you really got your head in there.

    Gas filling tube clogged?

Most likely your vent system... a dip in the vent line that has accumulated gas/water or a clogged hull vent fitting (primarily if you DON'T have an all-in-one fill/vent setup).

1994 Spirit 175 Bow to Console Wiring

Hmmm. Is it a stiff tape? Flip the tape upside down and see if that works? Can you run the tape from the other end, instead? The rigging tube would have to be broken in order for the tape to NOT be showing up at the other end.

    Engine Flush Quick Connect

Easy options to figure it out... Your local NAPA carries tons of o-rings. Take the ripped (or the good one) in and they'll get you hooked up. Your local Grady dealer probably stocks them. Measure the ID, OD and cross-section with a caliper and order online.

    Anchors

Compare the dimensions of that anchor to the dimensions of your current anchor to see if it will fit. You can take measurements of the fwd anchor roller vs the bow keel, as well. A couple simple measurements will tell for you sure if it will fit.

    Sending unit

Like Seasick, I've never heard of a "Hatterus" boat, either. I assumed you just didn't know how to spell "Hatteras". I suppose for this conversation it's a moot point - but, generally, it's important to be accurate. Walk around helm... do you mean a center console?

    Changing things up a little.

Ha! There's a whole lot of "fake" going on there! What's up with the hieropglyphics on the bottom of the passenger door? I have no clue what that's even supposed to be.

    Changing things up a little.

Hey, don't get down on yourself - you'll get there one day if you keep trying! :)

    Changing things up a little.

Joking aside, it looks nice, KY. It's a good match to your boat!

    Changing things up a little.

By chance, I happend to run into KY at the store a few weeks ago and he was driving his Nissan. With this new post of his blinged-out Yamaha, things are starting to make more sense...

    Sending unit

So you don't have any access plates? Do some more research and/or contact Hattera and see if they can give you the diagram of the tank. That should show where the sending unit is relative to the tank dimensions. Can you see ANY part of the tank from ANYWHERE in the boat? Use a snake camera...

    Bait Tank is Leaking

Yes, a better description of exactly what is leaking will help. If it's the actual tank, is it plastic? Since baitwell tanks don't completely fill and aren't under pressure, this must be a quite large crack for water to be simply splashing out of.

Need new gas caps, or clean/polish?

That's a Perko cap - very easy to locate and buy. But, yes, you could polish it with metal polish as noted above... and as long as you keep up on it, it will stay looking better - at least for a while. You will NOT get rid of the pitting, though.

How far out in the ocean would you travel from land?

As noted above by a few, it's less about the size of the boat and more about the conditions and your comfort level... and keeping a weather eye out! Case in point, I've been about 15 miles off in a 17' open boat - even back as far as when I was 15 years old. I'd go further - just haven't had...

    Lower unit oils

I watch for leaks when I get a chance or when I think of it. Other than that, I don't make a special habit of it. His lower unit would have been bone dry since after it was pulled out of the water, the water in the gearcase leaked back out before it got checked.

    Spirit 175 bilge pump location

A quick side note to what Seasick mentioned... the boats is over 30 years old and has had who knows how many owners. Things could have been changed many times by now. Our suggestions will only be assumptions - just get your eyes on things and start making sense of it/figuring it out. The...
