1994 Spirit 175 Lists to Port

The gas tank is NOT going to be mounted off center - that's a bulls... line - either knowingly by the seller or just being uninformed. Little boats are susceptbile to list much more so than bigger boats. Another real possibility... if you have the engine trimmed too far down at a certain...

    Sailfish deck panel rot/mold

In this particular case, Looking (only) at his pics, it looks like the typical plywood seen on a lot of these boats.

Is there a repair kit for small chips in the fiberglass?

Would need to see pictures before recommending anything. It's not clear if there's glass damage. But, yes, it's all fixable.

    Sailfish deck panel rot/mold

Bleach will not hurt anything you are dealing with. Personally, I've never expereienced it hurting or discoloring the gel, either. I actually use bleach quite often. The BIG question is whether or not the core is compromised... and how much. You'll have to do some destructive detective work...

    84 Tournament i/o transom replacement

You can totally do it from the outside - much, MUCH easier! When you break it down, it's actually pretty straight forward. Pull the drive, then pop the engine out and remove the transom assemblies. Keep your perimeter cuts about an inch from any edge... and keep in mind that a place like...

    84 Tournament i/o transom replacement

How concerned are you about aethetics (and/or how time/effort do you want to put into the aesthetics)? You can do it much easier from the outside. Cut the outer skin off in a few pieces and then epoxy them back on. There's more detail that can be discussed - but that's the jist of it.

Very inventive! Is she happy with it? If so, then you did good :)

    Hull vent

Dave, the kind of vent that it is... sort of a moot point, right? I'm not overly familar with your boat... but have disassembled/assembled many things like this over the years. Is any part of this "wall" that you're talking about removable? Is it a hard wall or a soft wall? Can you just cut...

Is there a way to adjust the windlass speed?

I have a feeling Fixit was being sarcastic :)

    What trailer should I buy?

Coastal is right - you're getting close to that 10,000lb mark. Which means you ARE in triple territory. But as noted above, you don't NEED that. There are manufacturers that build 10K trailers in dual axle form. I had a Shoreland'r like that - beautiful trailer - one time we lost a tire at...

    Charger and Shore power

If your current charger is hardwired, why not just return that one and get a hard-wired one? If you stick with a plug-in style, be sure to mount to the receptacle out of the bilge since inside the bilge is a big no-no and could result in an explosion.

1994 Grady White seafarer 228g Fuel Sender

Kinda hard to see what you have from where we are :) Any normal fuel sender will work - they are available at all marine stores as they are a very common part. You can use the swing arm style or rod style. Either match up what you have or measure your tank depth. That's all you really need...

    Odd Fuel Gauge Issue

Yes, correct. -- There is a pink and green wire (boat side wiring) at the sender, connected to the senders' white and black wires. -- I verified that the green wire has good continuity to ground

    Odd Fuel Gauge Issue

Thanks, guys. Yes, I did all the normal tests (see above for a better description. Yes, plastic tank. I did see an old ground that was broken off on the backside of the gauge on it's "bracket". But I didn't find a hanign wire anywhere close by to match up. I'll check again - and/or run a...

Is there a way to adjust the windlass speed?

Oops - got "salt" on my mind! :)

Is there a way to adjust the windlass speed?

No, you can't adjust the windlass speed. But your windlass won't move faster than anything else out there. That means the windlass isn't the issue. The issue is (almost always is) the type of rope... the condition of the rope (salted up/stiff)... the amount of "fall" (or too much rope for...

    Odd Fuel Gauge Issue

I'm stumped. My mother's boat - a 2000 192 with a 2000 Yamaha 150 OX66 - has a weird fuel level issue. The boat has the standard, (2) round Yamaha gauges. I can get pics later. But I spent over an hour yesterday trying to figure out the problem and it should have taken 10 minutes. I am...

Dealer? If you want something better (not all ski pylons are rated to pull a tube)... get a Turbo Swing.

    best anchor for freedom 192

I agree! A workaround for the chain is to just let out more line. When you're hauling an anchor in by hand, it just gets cumbersome trying to not to scratch the boat with the chain as it gets longer. All good, though! :)

    Fuel Gauge Removal

Navy, as you can tell by our replies, it was kind of difficult trying to figure out what exactly you were talking about. If you can be clearer with your questions/etc, it will help us help you... and save us a lot of time/typing for nothing :) To that point... in Post #23 you said you have no...
