It's like putting a 3" eavestrough around the roof of a 10,000 sq. foot house. It simply cannot handle the volume of water.

Ran into another issue with the new 227 last night. As I was pulling out the last of the original thru-hulls, I noticed that the drain in the port side fishbox has broken and is missing about half of the flange. So, that has to be replaced as well. Only problem is there is absolutely no way...

There should already be a drain in that bulkhead. There was one in my old '85 204 as well as in my current '86 227. If not and you have to drill one, sleeve the hole with a piece of PVC so you can stop it up with a standard rubber bilge plug. The PVC will also isolate the core of the bulkhead...
