    Suzuki DF200AP maintenance tips

I'll likely end up changing my oil due to the calendar rather than the hours. Hopefully I can get that alarm to work for my needs. I am surprised how inconvenient they made it to cancel the oil change notification. I can't help but think a lot of mechanically uninclined Suzuki owners end up...

    Suzuki DF200AP maintenance tips

Great write up Skunk. Another tip. The oil filter boxes are the perfect thickness to use as a channel to get oil away from the power head when removing the filter. There is actually a groove in the power head that you can slide the cardboard into. It can also be used around the drain plug if you...

    2001 248 voyager issues

My experience was similar to yours. Lots of weight in the helm area of a 248 made a night and day difference in ride.

    New model Freedom 415

334M x 1% = 3.3 million. Yep, that's a big FU $ market in the USA. GW only needs to tap a fraction of a percent to make that gamble pay off.

    248 Voyager Cuddy hatch replacement

In the case of the Etec, carry on! That makes more sense. The hatch and cabin side windows should be plastic. Email GW customer service and they can tell you who made them. I think the hatch is still in production. You might be able to polish out the cabin windows. Cutting your own or having...

    248 Voyager Cuddy hatch replacement

There was another member on here that did hang a 300 gen 1 etec on a Voyager years ago. I'm not sure if he provided much feedback. My only input would be why an Etec 300? There are so many other better options IMO that don't break the bank.

    248 Voyager Cuddy hatch replacement

No hardtop and 300 hp is a lot for that hull. With twin 2 strokes, expect low 50's for top end. For whatever reason f300's don't provide the best top end in the 300 class. I would expect high 40s.

    2001 248 voyager issues

I c I had considered repowering our 248 with twins, but opted to move up to the Islander. With the single 225 ox66, the boat easily road bow high unless the engine was at the lower ⅛ of the trim range. I was worried twin 4 strokes would really make it worse. I had also wondered if 250 lbs of...

    2024 kicker bracket

Just curious, why a kicker with twins? We slow troll by shutting off 1 engine and alternate. As long as you use fresh fuel and/or a detergent, 4 strokes don't care if they idle a lot as long as you change oil a little more often.

    New model Freedom 415

Call me crazy, but I think we can call a 45' cc a walk-around?

    New model Freedom 415

You are keeping track of the wrong number. Not how many, but how much - as in $$. One of these = many times the profit of the others. For many builders it's a can't lose investment... for now.

Hmm. What to say about a boat 99% on this forum won't ever own? Nice tender?

    2001 248 voyager issues

I owned one for 10 years. The 248 was available in a lot of different configurations. Mine was a single without a hardtop. It had its quirks like most hulls, but knowing how to run it helped a lot with the issues you mentioned and more.

Fresh water washdown hose to flush engine?

Freedom 205, be sure to add to your annual maintenance pulling the thermostat. The flushing method you are considering certainly helps, but 4 cylinder Yamahas tend to get salt build up around the thermostats and corrosion quickly follows around the housing (power head). Not being able to run the...

Hairline cracks in 2020 228 hardtop?

Try it 1st in a less obvious spot. If you buff it, you will remove the clear anodizing. If you determine it is in the clear anodizing only, leave it alone.

    Insurance

My insured value is similar, but my coverage is not as inclusive. I'm more than $1k/year less. IMO your rate is still good considering the coverage. Between indoor storage and new engine warranties, I currently don't have the need for your type of policy. Good to know what's out there.
