    Used freedom 235

If the location of the boat is far from you (looks like FL from the palm trees), perhaps a member of this forum would crawl around the boat for you and report findings. I’d still recommend a survey, compression test etc before you formalize the purchase. But this “check-out” by a GG member...

    WTB 268 Islander table post/arm/support....

On my 2014 251 CE the parts are made by Norsap: (1) Pedestal part #: 2019-419-793 (2) Table Base part #: 2095-419-793B (3) Deck Flange part #: 2080 I believe you can source them from: https://www.imtra.com/products/norsap/equipment/table-pedestals

Water depth required to float a Freedom 235

If you contact Grady-White support they can provide you the recommended bunk placement (model and year specific… such that the bunks align with the stringers (that run forward to aft) on your boat. You may be able to move the bunks further out (center-on-center spacing), so that you boat can...

    251CE questions / parts needed

Having had full covers on my 2 prior 24’ boats and dealing with the PITA of putting them on from my lift, I opted for just a standard sized center console cover ($225 at Fishmasters.com): https://westlandcovers.com/t-top-console-cover.html Here are the part numbers and info for the ski pylon...

    Dome light

I don’t see which GW model or year boat you have, but on my 2014 251 CE the dome light is not typical Lumitec stock. I had the dome light fail and because on my boat the dome light also controls the aft spreader light, I had to order a “warranty replacement” directly from Lumitec. Just a heads...

    Replacing a Seat Cushion.....

If the GW factory doesn’t carry a matching vinyl and cushion, GW Customer Support should provide you the vinyl manufacturer and color code. I was able to source matching vinyl for my 2014 on greatlakesskipper.com and have a local upholstery shop make a replacement cushion. I bought enough...

    Info for Boat Purchase

Freedom 235 or 255 … you can’t go smaller than the 24’ Chap, if you are loaded up with family. I looked at the BW and Robalo products in the 24’ range and after crawling over all 3 extensively, chose the GW 251. The BW and Robalos are really nice, but most members of this forum and present...

    Comparison of CE251 vs Fisherman

I own a 251 CE and use it for near offshore and inland fishing. She does a great job switching profiles to a sandbar queen and ICW pleasure cruiser. I looked at the 236 and 251 and for me the deciding factor was the ability to remove most of the cushions when fishing. In my prior boats it...

    Retractable Ski Pole

Water-based silicon would be my recommendation. I don’t have the ski pylon, but it is what is recommended for my trolling motor belt and what I use on various rowing apparatus that is exposed to salt and grit.

    Access panel removal behind electronics

Guys thanks for your help. The picture from ElyseM did the trick. I figured GW must have had those “other” clips on the bottom, which was causing me some trouble. Used a clothing hook to get some leverage and pulled it straight back and off she came.

    Access panel removal behind electronics

Thx, I’ll contact the factory. I don’t think there are clips anywhere but the top. Leverage is a problem, so I might try a suction cup grab bar that I’ve got handy to see if this will help me pull this down and out.

    Access panel removal behind electronics

Thx, Up seems tight as a frog’s ass … can’t gain enough purchase to move it down either. Will give it another go tomorrow.

    Access panel removal behind electronics

Forum brain trust, how do I remove this access panel: -behind the electronics box -2 clips at the top of the panel holding it in place (the location market in red) It looks like the panel is meant to be slid straight down, but I can’t budge the thing. Can’t get behind to remove clips or bend...

Spotlock (Garmin or Minnkota) on a 180?

On my CE 251, I installed a Minnkota Ulterra 112 (60 lbs) using Magnum Metalz downrigger quick release, swivel and mounting plate … which couples to a custom mounting plate (for the Minnkota TM bolt pattern and Magnums pattern). The combination of these attachments … rises the TM mounting...

Spotlock (Garmin or Minnkota) on a 180?

I have a MinnKota Riptide on my 25’ GW and the integrated Trolling Motor GPS does a good job holding the boat in NC’s coastal wind and tide situations. Minnkota also offers an optional “heading sensor” (puck) which can be calibrated (to boat specifics and mounting location), so it is not...

What are your Top 3 favorite boat mods or additions you've made?

I did there mods this season and happy with the results: -re-established OEM bow ladder after prior owner did a factory delete to mount a trolling motor on the bow -repositioned trolling motor to the starboard factory mount point and installed swivel and quick release to ease changing the...

Bummer. I’ve not had that happen to my Dewalt stuff, but I’ll proceed with more caution next deep cleaning.
