Questions from GW Freedom 275 owner

Joseph, congratulations on your new boat. I have thought about doing the same fresh water flush, due to low volume and pressure at my dock. For my boat the “water math” does not work: -Yamaha 300, the recommended flush time 15 minutes -Freshwater tank size on my boat is 10 gallons -Freshwater...

    Retractable Ski Pole

I don’t know for the 228 but my CE 251, there is an aftermarket option with a ski pylon. Have you looked at this product: http://turboswing.com Don’t use the tower as the anchor point.

    Retractable Ski Pole

It is likely salt creating and adhesive layer on the lower tube. Try to tap on the ball with a rubber mallet and then gently twist the exposed upper ball and tube back and forth.

    228 Seafarer chalky rubrail

Magic Eraser , rinse off and then apply 303 Protectant. I tied Acetone, but the results were inconsistent across the 24’ of rubrail on each side. 6-year old rubrail, pretty sure the prior owner never applied protectant previously. I believe Acetone and more patience would work for rubrails...

What survey findings are a red flag for you?

If you are new to boating all the surveyor’s findings are important. But as pointed out already It is hard to do hypotheticals without knowing your boat ownership experience and maintenance propensity. I’ve used the Marine Surveyor’s findings to adjust the sales price, to identify the key items...

CWV, I did not realize the 236 was not on the chart Grady Customer Relations sent me for my 2014 251 CE. In addition to what Seasick provided, you want to insure you know the 236’s LCG to adequately center the boat on your cradle. Frankly I was surprised of where my 251 needed to be centered...

I called GW and they provided this document for specific lift setup; to insure (1) proper bunk spacing (so the buttocks of your boat will rest on the bunks) and (2) the appropriate Center Gravity for centering on the cradle.
