Sorry that happened to you. We can't catch them all. Anytime a message refers you to contact so and so,,, it's not legit. Don't respond, but report it, and either me or Jeff will ban and remove them.
Had stainless with last boat. Heavy and a pain to deal with. Went aluminum with this boat,,, much better. Nothing wrong with aluminum, just spray them down when you're washing the boat.
Did anything change in '98 to make '96 cushions not work?? If they fit, change covers if you don't like them.
You've been asking since February the 9th and nothing yet,,, the '96's may be a viable option. Finding a set of cushions 25 years old that just happen to be laying around collecting...
Agree with all said about our 228's!!! A super versatile big, little boat. I bought mine in '17 in Tampa Florida and it now lives in Kentucky. I pull it wherever I want to go and is the perfect size for my adventures, be it offshore in the Keys, sandbar hopping in the Gulf, fishing for catfish...
If your current motor is still running, go fish. Order the white 250 Suzuki with FBW and you'll be happy that you waited the 3-4 months. The 225 is adequate,,, but very happy moving to my F250,,, was well worth the wait.
Same as fishtales,,, went with the 15' collapsible Taco's in Taco Grand Slam 280 bases on the hardtop with backing plates. For the occasional use that I need them, these work for me.
Hi GW22, I'm not Luckydude, but I also have a 228 and I launch and load solo all the time, especially when I'm out with the wife. Launching and loading either the 208 or the 228 will be similar. The biggest difference in the two is the 208 motor is on the transom and 228 is on a bracket. The...
I just recently went through the repower process on my 2004 228. I went from a 2004 F225 mechanical to a new 2023 F250, fly by wire. The new F250 weighs in at 551 lbs. The conversion to fbw was well worth it. Running the motor is like a video game, there is no effort whatsoever. It handles the...
I had the later setup on mine, which I gutted from the boat soon after I bought it. Tried cleaning the pot, but after being closed up for a bit, the cabin stunk. Removed everything and had the holes in the hull filled in. Don't miss it in the least.
I'm somewhat biased myself towards the Marlin. I'd be up to my elbows right now tweaking the Marlin for duty as the replacement for the Release. They both have their place, but I'd go for the Marlin. Creature comforts and fishability, win win.
