Fuel Tank Cleaning company on Long Island????

Your local auto parts store should have some type of electronic lift pump that will work just fine. Can't see it being more than 30-40$. I still say remove the sender, get something to the very bottom and get a siphon going. Cheap, easy, and safe. Pickup tubes are close to an inch or so...

    Engine Shut Down

Also if you pull the sending unit, and the gasket is at all questionable replace it. If it's decent still, clean the tank surface carefully with a scotch brite pad and reinstall the gasket with some sealer like perfect seal etc.

    Engine Shut Down

Main tank pickup tube either blocked, broken off, or has a hole through it and you used enough fuel to get it below that hole. Antisiphon valve seized up, or bad fuel. You can: pull the fuel sending on the main tank ( mark a line with a sharpie so it's easier to line up when reinstalling, even...

Fuel Tank Cleaning company on Long Island????

I wouldn't waste you're time having them cleaned. Get them as empty as possible and add a decent amount of new clean fuel and an additive if you wish. Like mentioned above maybe keep a few extra filters with you amd change them twice as often the first season you use the boat again. You can...

    Is the snow gone yet?

Do a google search on your year and hp motor, should be easy enough to find plugs. If you only have one spin on filter 10 micron is fine. A single 2 micron may get gunked up faster. 10 is in the middle and a good choice I would dump it halfway through the season also. Best way to check the...

Would anyone be interested in having starboard work done?

I figured I would start a thread to see if anyone would like any custom/duplication King Starboard work done? I've been working with the stuff for awhile and have completed many projects at the yard I work at, customers of my own, and on my own personal boats. I have a full shop dedicated to...

Any issues with isolating the bilge?

Basically what I'm trying to do is isolate the two sections where the fuel tanks go from the forward and rear bilge. Currently my boat has all 4 sections common with each other (rear bilge, rear tank area, forward tank area, and forward bilge). Not sure if they are all like this. I want to...

Any issues with isolating the bilge?

Is there any reason not to do this? Glass in a new larger piece of PVC tube connecting the rear most, and forward most bilge in the cuddy. Then glassing in another tube from the forward sump to the rear bilge and rear sump to rear bilge. Then keeping a plug in both of those tubes in the rear...

    Opinion on 2003 Johnson 150

Great motors, east to work on, easy to fix, cheap to maintain, nothing too expensive on them like there would be on an EFI outboard. Keep your fuel clean, drain the carbs in the winter (and at least clean them every year or two), change your normal wear an tear items annually and they will...
