    Need help identifying transducer

There should be a tag with that info on the cable near the end of the cable where it connects to your MFD. If there was an extension cable used to reach your helm, then look for the tag near the connection with the extender.

    Battery switch issue

If you have both of your battery switches off and you still have lights working on the boat, then someone in the past has made a direct connection to one or both of the batteries. Trace the wires from the lights that work with the battery switches off back to the source where they are getting...

    Wipers vs no wipers

I spent some time looking through glass while on the salt water. If you have saltwater hitting the glass and the wipers on, then you need to keep the glass flushed regularly with freshwater or the rubber wiper will turn the salt crystals into tiny grindsones and it will scuff the fine finish of...

    251 ce battery/electrical issue

Do not put dielectric grease on the battery posts or cable connections. Dielectric grease is an isolator, in that it does not conduct electrical current. After your connections are made with clean dry components, then coat them with a corrosion inhibitor.

    Ground wire corrosion in outboard

....and keep the whole under-cowl powerhead sprayed with a light weight lube/corrosion inhibiter. Here's a link to one expensive one. WD40 works fine, but doesn't last quite as long...

Should be wired into the courtesy circuit. Pop the light out and follow the wire. A previous owner may have not liked their position and cut the wires.

    Removing a bolster problems

You have to push the grommet up into the foam and rotate it a little so your screwdriver can meet the screwhead at the proper angle. Push up hard, get western with it and you will get it. The foam will kinda obscure the screw head at times but push your screwdriver right through the foam till...

    Cracked Transom Recovery

That brown stuff is beeswax like glacierbaze said. It was put on no doubt after they towed it into shallow water so it couldnt sink. You can see the plume of mud in the propwash of the salvage towboat as they grounded the towed vessel. They would then have packed the cracks that caused the...

    Outboard motor fllush bag

Concerning the issue of not getting water flow on the muffs, I have found that if you just remove the plastic screen on the intake (just one screw), the water will get to the impeller much better. Since doing that, I have had no problem with water flow. glacierbaze, Like Dennis, I think your...

Ha ha ha....yeah, she's been rubbing in that bigger fish story whenever she gets the chance. She's had lots of fun ribbing me about how much fuel I burned running 10 miles each way and winding up 400 feet of line with a 2 pound lead to check my bait when I coulda sat out in front of the marina...
